Q. What is the Bersin & Associates WhatWorks® Awards Program?
A. Bersin & Associates WhatWorks® Awards Program is a research-driven program designed to
identify and recognize organizations that have developed and executed HR, talent or learning
related programs, processes or initiatives efficiently and with significant business
improvements.
Q. How many organizations will be selected for recognition as Bersin & Associates WhatWorks® Award winners?
Bersin & Associates is not setting a predetermined bar for number of winners. The intent is to recognize the best submissions, taking into account our 7 categories.
Q. What are the Bersin & Associates WhatWorks® Awards Program categories?
A. We will recognize winners in the following categories this year. Practitioner applicants should submit using our single Practitioner program application. Providers should use the Solution Provider application to submit for either their products (Application Option 1); for an innovative solution to an HR, talent or learning challenge that delivered significant improvement for their own business; or they may submit on behalf of a client (Application Option 2). (Please see also our response to the next question below). Winners will be announced within one of seven categories:
- Transforming HR
- Developing Tomorrow's Leaders
- Enabling High Impact Learning
- Acquiring Top Talent
- Optimizing Talent Management
- Leveraging WhatWorks® Membership
and, for Solution Providers that help organizations be successful in the above categories:
- Delivering Innovation
Q. What organizations should apply?
A. Corporate, government, and non-profit organizations of all sizes and across industries
with exemplary HR, learning, and/or talent programs and initiatives who wish to share
best practices. You should apply regardless of the size of your organization –
the program is specifically designed with different segments to give all size organizations a chance to win. Both Bersin & Associates WhatWorks® members and non-members are invited to apply.
Related solution providers and consultants may also participate. There are two ways:
- Nominate customers. Be sure that the application is developed in the customer organization's name and from the customer perspective. Vendors, their products, and services will be identified as appropriate in the Bersin & Associates report and case studies.
- Nominate yourselves. We have created a special category just for vendors. See Delivering Innovation.
Q. How is this program different from other
award programs?
A. The Bersin & Associates WhatWorks® Awards Program is the only research-based program currently conducted for HR, enterprise learning and talent management. Applicants will be judged on documented benchmark criteria established by Bersin & Associates over years of quantitative and qualitative research. In addition, all judges are Bersin & Associates analysts with extensive experience in corporate learning and talent management. This process gives us clear and consistent criteria for winners and will help all participants learn from the benchmark organization winners.
Q. What is the deadline for applications?
A. The deadline is Sept. 14, 2012.
Q. Who are the judges?
A. The judges are Bersin & Associates analysts and consultants, each of whom has years of experience in the HR, learning and talent management related functions.
Q: How do I submit finished application forms and
materials?
A. You may e-mail your finished application and related materials to whatworksawards@bersin.com. Be sure to attach any additional digital documents you reference in your application and to make payment.
